This Is Why I Don’t Gamble: I would have bet anything the Green Bay Packers were gonna take it this year, I foresaw a Bucs Vs Packers Super Bowl and the Bucs winning. It’s astonishing that they didn’t make it past the first round, brought down by the 49ers. And that, to quote Herman Edwards, is why you play the game: to see who wins. How Rodgers ended the season being the goat and not the G.O.A.T. is beyond me.
Biden at the halfway mark: I am not a huge fan of Joe Biden, the Dems badly needed a much, much better leader to take the country away from the fascist and racist Republicans. And they don’t have it. At 71% of Americans thinking the US is heading in the wrong direction, what tomorrow brings is a Republican government eating away at everything from Roe Vs Wade to the end of the 1965 voting rights (think of that: black women got the right to vote in 1965).
All Death All The Time: Meat Loaf dead at 74, a two hit wonder (plus a starring role in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”) with that sort of weight you can see on a Chris Farley. The one time I saw Mr. Loaf on stage he was abysmal and yet, he was part of the rock aristocrazy for a long, long time… speaking of weight, comedian Louie Anderson dead at 68. Also the effervescent actress Yvette Mimieux left us -if she is the future of mankind maybe we will be alright.
The Winter Olympics In China: as ground zero for the Covid 19 pandemic which they certainly let loose on the world, China is herding its population like lamb to the slaughter.
The World 2022: China, Russia, United States rule. Two of these countries are run by dictators, and the third might well join them in 2024…. is it possible that dictatorships are the government of choice for the the world at large?
Hotel Transylvania I – IV – The fourth film in the hotel for monsters Sony animation treat dropped earlier this month on Amazon Prime. “Hotel Transylvania: Transformania” is no masterpiece but it is silly, goofy fun headlined by Andy Samberg and Selena Gomez, and while Adam Sandler while missing the fourth movie is in the first three as the voice of Drac… Sandler had me from the beginning of the first , where he is playing with his baby daughter Mavis. I can see its mediocrity yet the big baby in me responds very well. The list of voice talent (Steve Buscemi, Kathryn Hahn) is impressive – Grade: B+
