The First 22% Of The 21st Century: pretty disastrous though figure that the first 20% of the 20th century included the Great War and table setting for a great depression and WWII. This century opened with an attack on New York and spiralled out of control ever after, even a worldwide pandemic was only part of the story.
But musically: there was a tipping point that reached us with streaming and it had an adverse effect on music as such. Omnipresent isn’t a simile for omnipotent and stretched to its outer limits there is no centrifugal forced here.
Streaming: the 2022 streaming experience was pretty darn good, show me a world in which I can stream every season of “Death In Paradise or “Murder, She Wrote” and I’ll show a better mousetrap.
What’s My Line: Not all of it but the seventeen years o CBS Sunday are amongst the greatest game show of all time. Being able to be this far back and seen as a whole it was a truly remarkable and seeing so many stars of the 50s and 60s, great names from the 40s like Walter Brennan and Barry Fitzpatrick show up, Alfred Hitchcock, Phil Silvers. I may write more about the show at a later date but for now give yourself a treat.
On Broadway: is it back yet? I went to quite a few plays last year are from “& Juliet” to “Some Like It Hot” they have been disappointing in the extreme. That upcoming Britney Spears musical is more of the same.
Movies: the Christmas season was horrible and at some point in time, what will we do about movie theatres??
Why Is Everyone Playing Arenas?:I noticed it with Red Hot Chili Peppers and from The Weeknd to Morgan Theatre it has been all 60K seaters plus
