Axl Rose Slams Trump On Social Media

Axl Rose

The more time passes after this dramatic election, the more we learn about the camp chosen by famous rock stars …. The last in date? Axl Rose, who took on Twitter to comment on the nomination of Jeff Sessions as Attorney General:

‘Good people don’t listen to, acknowledge, nominate or elect people like Senator Jeff Sessions,’ he wrote.

He is clearly not very happy with the result of the election, and then on Saturday, he even took the time to comment on the last tweets of Trump, who was asking the cast of Hamilton to apologize to Mike Pence:

‘Hamilton Cast harassed Pence.” Do u ever stop whining? An apology?Seriously?!U won, this is the job,get on with it or get out of the kitchen.’

And if you look at Axl Rose’s Twitter feed, you’ll see he barely tweets, a few times every month, he is certainly not social media obsessed, but I guess Trump’s victory made him more vocal than ever. During a recent show in Sao Paulo, Brazil, he even improvised a line during ‘Civil War’, singing, ‘Look at the fear that Trump is feeding’.

People make fun of Axl all the time, he got fat, he is a diva, and if he is not the biggest intellectual among our musicians, but it seems he is getting better with age. First he takes on vocal duties in AC/DC and does a good job, then he slams Trump on social media!

All this is even funnier when you know about the time Trump showed up at a Guns N’Roses show at Madison Square Garden in 1992, asking for a meeting with ‘The Donald Trump of rock and roll’… Trump obviously identified with the famous frontman at the time, he met Axl Rose, and I don’t know what happened backstage, but Axl’s recent public disapproval of the Donald is an interesting turn of events.

When many aging rockers like Vince Neil and Gene Simmons are turning into old-fart-Trump-supporters, it’s quite refreshing to see Axl siding with the right side of history.
