After The Best Governors Ball In Years, The Worst Governors Ball In Years

YIKES

The 2022 Governors Ball from June 10th to June 12th is on sale on Thursday (there is a Citibank presale on right now), and if you can get past the eye watering, knocking on $400 for three day GA. The line up simply isn’t there…

Friday, June 10th:
Kid Cudi
Migos
Jack Harlow
Louis The Child
Black Pumas
Skepta
Quinn XCII
Madeon
JPEGMAFIA
Beabadoobee
Coi Leray
Channel Tres
Samia
Blu DeTiger
Aly & AJ
Paris Texas
Julia Wolf
Between Friends
Ultra Q
Plastic Picnic

Saturday, June 11th:
Halsey
Flume
Roddy Ricch
Joji
Still Woozy
ASHNIKKO
YG
Chelsea Cutler
Tove Lo
Denzel Curry
Diesel (Shaquille O’Neal)
Gus Dapperton
Benee
Peach Tree Rascals
The Tesky Brothers
Valley
Almost Monday
Dehd
Octavio the Dweeb
Millington

Sunday, June 12th:
J. Cole
Playboi Carti
Glass Animals
Kaytranada
Clairo
Becky G
Jazmine Sullivan
100 gecs
Japanese Breakfast
J.I.D
COIN
Soccer Mommy
Surf Curse
DUCKWRTH
Del Water Gap
Jax
Ken Car$on
De’Wayne
The Brummies
Kaien Cruz

Let me whittle it down to must sees per day:

Friday:

Migos
Jack Harlow
Skepta
JPEGMAFIA
Beabadoobee
Channel Tres
Samia

None of these performers are first trier (Not even headliner Kid Cudi -though Ye might show). EWell, maybe Skepta, the grime King, is A List.

Saturday, June 11th:
Halsey
Roddy Ricch
Tove Lo
Denzel Curry
Diesel (Shaquille O’Neal)

Despite my love for Halsey, who can comfortably fill a 20K sitter but no more, she isn’t worth this much hassle. Nobody here is a must see at all, a truly dreadful day…

Sunday

Sunday, June 12th:
J. Cole
Playboi Carti
Becky G
Jazmine Sullivan
100 gecs
Japanese Breakfast
J.I.D
Soccer Mommy
DUCKWRTH

Despite it being a Sunday, this might be the one. 100 gecs is an absolutely gem, J Cole one of hip hops biggest stars and Playboy Cartei a young legend, Becky G? They should have gone for a bigger name, maybe a Rosalia or (god knows) Maluma or Sebastian Yatra.

I can’t believe this missed out on THAT NAME… Coachella has Ye, why don’t we. Where is the sort of star we had on 2022, no Billie Eilish, J. Balvin A$AP Rocky, Post Malone… the name’s are simply not as big…
