Tom Edwards, musical director and guitarist for Adam Ant has died of an apparent heart attack at age 41. Edwards had just performed at the Boston show on Tuesday (see the deets here)
“On behalf of Adam and his band, we thank all of you for your best wishes and support during this most difficult time. Tom shared his musical gifts with the world and his spirit will live on forever.” This statement appeared on the Adam Ant website.
Everyone’s spirit lives on forever don’t they? I find the statement odd and I find that postponing two dates (the tour will resume on the 29th!) even more odd.
But hey that’s showbiz and I had nothing to do with this ( I don’t think) Edwards who stood to Adams left had zero interaction with the crowd and primarily hid behind his hair all evening- which I also found interesting.
Condolences to all touched by this loss.
