– I Wish Dee Dee Ramone Was Here With Me – Le Volume Courbe – This is a genuinely bizarre little song, a fitful strange, acoustic daydream with a French accent: it is like indie folk with all pretension airlifted – A-
– Stronger Than Me – Patsy Cline Cline – I have another version where she takes it slower and when she sings “knew” and “won’t bother you” she seems to sink in sorrow – A
– End Of Me – Maserati – Electronic dance track like what you’d expect Windows 10 to write, but in a good way – B+
– Servings – Meds, Madlib, Hodgy Beats – This has some of the darkness of Hodgy Beats and a lot of the experimental beats of Madlib – B
– Golden Age Of TV – Night Birds – I’ve got to hand it to these guys, they sound like another era of rock without sounding like any specific other groups, you expect them to be opening for the Dead Boys – B+
– Joy Rider – Pictureplane – ‘Fess up, you expected this electronic 80s hybrid DJ to suck real bad? The thing is, it’s a catchy song and the two voices merge outwards instead of in – B+
– Grand Canyon – Puscifer – This is easily the best song on the album, improvised? weirdness around a steady beat; if it was an instrumental it would be really good but the vocals kill it – B
– Hard Bastards – Roots Manerva – Excellent mood rocker from the UK rapper -talk about muscular vocals… sounds like it just got out of prison – A-
– The Mountain – Saviours – Ah yes, core nothing, this is metal to its core – B
– Silence/Love – Steven Lambke – Overblown something or other folk song, is that a flamenco on the bridge? – C+
