3 – Down – Brandyn Burnette – Proof that an industry upbringing (his dad is a muckety muck at Columbia) doesn’t necessarily disable you from recording soulful electronica – B
4 – Boys Can Never Tell – Shovels And Rope, J. Roddy Walston – Popular married couple plus Walston on dodgy in the extreme folk flimsy – C-
5 – Numb – Nick Jonas, Angel Haze -The rap makes it all the way, not a surprise right? – B
6 – Forever – ILOVEMAKONNEN, Santigold, 1st – It takes awhile but this is an aural gift and it creeps up on you –
7 – Van Gogh – These Kids Wear Crowns – Canadian powerpop, a little obvious though the chorus is catchy and the bridge is even better than that – B-
8 – Amor Limosnero – Calibre 50 – Sure, sounds like they are wandering from table to table at an outdoor Mexican restaurant… still dig the oompah and the accordion – B
9 – In Wonder – Punch Brothers – Dreadful, get on with it already – C-
10 – The Raid – Wafia – This years Lorde, but I ain’t gonna get caught looking this time. More singer songwriterly, less electrnic, but the same deep shakiness at his heart – A-
