1 – Moment – G.E.M. – An acronym for Get Everybody Moving, this Hong Kong superstar took over as an Asian Taylor Swift after winning a Chinese TV singing contest. Known to write her own stuff while going multi platinum. This is somewhat lame MOR pop but gains a lot by my having no idea what she is singing about. Like so much of K-Pop that neither K’d nor Pop’d, no reason for it not to break Stateside, though it won’t – C
2 – Let England Shake – PJ Harvey – I never said this album sucked, it didn’t,. it just wasn’t her greatest moment, though from what I’ve heard of the next one (aka not much), the next one might – B
3 – Sixteen, Fifteen, Fourteen – PJ Harvey The greatest song ever written about hide and seek – A
4 – Dear One – The Scarletts – Early doo wop classic before the Five Satins changed their name – A
5 – Just 60,000 More Days Till I Die – Evans The Death – UK indie band can’t stop necking with Thanatos – B+
6 – Caught Up In The Middle – Bobby Womack – This gorgeous soulful work out landed in 1978 when disco was King, just to remind you exactly what was missing – A
7 – Long Snake Moan – PJ Harvey – How great was she in 95? 96? I saw her three times on this tour and should have gone more – A+
8 – Whatever Happened To PJ Proby? – Van Morrison – I loved it at the time but not LOVED IT, and the version with Proby didn’t drive me crazy either, but finally it has clkicked, so please can you cut me some slack – A
9 – These Foolish Things – The Five Satins – Push, push, push, push? Bryan Ferry should be so lucky – A
10 – Two Sleepy People – Bob Hope, Shirley Ross – A newly married couple, “two sleepy people with nothing to say and too much in love to breakaway” – A
