10 Songs: Friday, October 2nd, 2015

1 – Love Like Anthrax – Gang Of Four – After ratting out world politics for 35 minutes, the band ended their only great album by comparing love  the revenge of the vegan, it distorts its way through noise guitar. Helen is seeing Go4 tonight, and for their sakes I hope they play it – B+

2 – Titanic – Steve Aoki – Out of time? Absolutely, in 2015 what does “you jump, I  do jump” as a hook signify to any anyone. But at least in the easily manipulated drop the bass world, this is a reak king of the world moment – B+

3 – Complexity – Eagles Of Death Metal – Not witty but clever I its simplicity – B+

4 – Dum Dee Dum Jikay remix – Keys N Krates – say what you will about trap, it sure lives up to its concept… and here, its name – B+

5 -One Touch – Baauer, Alunageorge, Rae Sremmurd – Baauer was never a one hit wonder, he was a producer who caught a tiger by its tale, this is a terrific piece of trap: it is where EDM is not quite soft rock at all – B+

6 Breathe – Rudimental – Lianne Le Havas – Rudimental might not be the best at this beats plus lead singer arrangement, but this is a pretty darn good attempt. Note the lead singer – B+

7 – Hands Of Life – Miley Cyrus – Theme song from that lesbian lovers movie with Julianne Moore, completely ghastly – D

8 – Our Love – Editors – Man, hey sound like all those 2009 indie rocker bands from Brooklyn – B

9 – Tug Of War – Paul McCartney – Off the new deluxe reissue, it sounds a little better than I remembered – C

10 – Pipes Of Peace – Paul McCartney – This is almost as bad as “Freedom” – D+
