– OBVLIVIUS – The Strokes – Not sure if the rest of the EP will be this goo, but this is better than anything on their last album, a fuzzed out as written, it has a classic vibe though the outro goes on a bit – B+
– All The Way Up (Remix) – Fat Joe, Jay Z – “You know you made it when the fact your marriage made it is worth millions,” Jigga raps here. “Lemonade is a popular drink and it still is / Survival of the littlest.” Interesting for gossip mongers but otherwise, so what? – C+

– Bus Stop – The Hollies – That first verse lyric has the succinctness of Nabokov – A+
– Drums Of The Island – Elvis Presley – Look, I’ve been ragging pretty steadily on Tepper and Bennet over the last coupla albums, but I coulda sworn this was traditional and it ain’t – B
– Same Ol’ Mistakes – Rihanna – How did Tame Impala become the indie go to guy? Somebody had a better imagination than I do because this simply works – A
– Giddyup – Dressy Bessy – Addictive rocker sounds like alternative bubblegum – A
– Your Girlfriend – Round2Crew – These guys have some of the youthful badassness of LFO, bubblegum with teen charm – B+
– Call Off Your Dogs – Lake Street Dive – They sucked live but this song is terrific – A-
