The nice people at Burgerama gave me a photo pass so I had access to the photo pit, which is certainly a delight but also a terrible temptation to take as many pictures as possible… This is just what I did, and I ended up with hundreds of photos to sort out today! I thought for a minute I knew all the songs of Weezer, but I realized it was because the band may have played all its greatest hits… From ‘My Name is Jonas’ to ‘Hash Pipe’, ‘El Scorcho’, ‘Go Away’, ‘Island in the Sun’, ‘Beverly Hills’, ‘Say it Ain’t so’, ‘Pork and Beans’, ‘Undone’, ‘Buddy Holly’, yes it was a real crowd pleaser
They formed in Los Angeles in 1992 and have sold roughly 17 million records worldwide. Hits include “Buddy Holly”, “Hash Pipe” and “Pork and Beans” and on this warm fall evening in Long Beach, none of these songs were played.
The martial beats that open the song are a fake out, this is actually emo rock as Rivers had a huge influence on via Pinkerton, and so I guess it makes perfect sense for this to sound very Pinkertonish in the best manner possible. A great song, his first great song in a long long time – A
It might actually be catchier than I am giving it credit for. I’ve really sorta grown tired of the band and I don’t like waiting four years for crap albums, but this one could have been worse; extended childhoods could be their own rewards.
I’m getting together with Bethany Cosentino from Best Coast and we’re going to write a song. You never know where these songs are going to end up but it could be on the next Weezer record.’
Four years is a long time, and the band also explained that Cuomo wrote the new songs at a pace slower than usual, ‘giving the songs … time to gradually grow into their final forms’, organizing them ‘thematically around three groups of songs’ and utilizing the ‘sound from the band’s earliest days to tell new stories in 2014.’

Let’s just stop there, a ten-year relationship with Cuomo? I wonder what Cuomo would say about this, According to Weezerpedia, she was Cuomo’s on-again off-again girlfriend between 1992 and 1995! Hey that’s barely 3 years
