That can only mean “ONE KISS”!!!

her best song, and the best single of the year
Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus are at the Wiltern on Friday
Ariana just left the pack and has her own “Shake It Off” after all these years.
who doesn’t need a good cry here and there?
hip hop hook of the year
Nothing kills music faster than self importance.
here and there they can turn up with a good single
a little laid back
lame EDM by the town pump of music
“The symbol of your love is time”
way over does the necrophilism
two women who saved two EDM pop songs
representing the old sod
a terrific paean to loving who you want to love
The sound of Gay Teen
a world in turmoil
that ubiquitous”Tools” sound
doesn’t just exercise the zeitgeist, it defines the zeitgeist.
Why did “One Kiss” not break big Stateside?
“One Kiss” is already on my best of 2018 list
wood being sawn
pure aural sugar
I could finally hear Katy Perry’s terrific vocal
She was so obsessed with her life and career
‘Taylor was really disappointed in Calvin and felt like he wasn’t there for her.’
As for Bernie Sanders, does it even matter what kind of music he likes?
It seems there’s no in between among female artists, they are either too superstars or second-line-on-Coachella-poster.
Avicii and Calvin Harris are the old face of new dance, but boy are they old faces. This MOR beats stuff has grown beyond tedious and if this was 1989, these two would be the first at the guillotine as privileged pampered arbittors of manufactured crap.
Taylor Swift was spotted in Los Angeles at a Haim concert at the Troubadour on Thursday…. And she was holding hands with Calvin Harris… the world’s highest paid DJ with the world’s highest paid pop star, what a power couple! And both highly overrated! But we already know it won’t last for very long.
Rappers are still going strong even those I haven’t heard anything from for a long time, like Diddy ($60 million and $1.90 per second)! Beside this you have Calvin Harris ($66 million and $2.09 per second), Jay Z ($60 million and $1.90 per second), and Drake ($33 million and $1.05 per second)
Motion – Calvin Harris – The best EDM album since Bassnectar, is the best big star filled extravaganza since Avicii’s remix album. It is all pretty excellent, but the Haim, Gwen Stefani and house banger “Slow Acid” are simply magnificent – ALBUM OF THE WEEK – A-
Is it me, or the tune even sounds la bit ike the Police at 0:58 and at 1:57? Because yes, it goes back into circles, a bit pop-dance, taking a full disco ball level, then these half-hushed Fleetwood-Mac-like multi voices and then open dance floor again….
Ellie? Weren’t they dating and then broke up and then she ended up with Eddie Sheeran and dumped him and he wrote a song about it? or am I thinking about two other people? Ed wrote “Don’t” about Ellie dumping him for a 1D guy… Ps she is currently dating the bassist for McFly.
Wait a second, Brown, Usher and Ross? Personally, I am amazed Ross is still kicking but he really is a great rapper and this is a soulful, more Usher than Brown track. Personally, I was disappointed by “Blame” -relatively speaking of course. I’m guessing John Newman gave it the magic juice.
Hell, this is so weird, things take forever to move on the Singles charts, and for the second week there is precisely one new song and two changes in position with “Happy” dropping out and “Maps” dropping in and i have admitted in public before that I like Adam Levine, and this is as good a Police update as you’ll hear. But the dye job, Ada? It has to go.
Country Song – Happy Mondays – Originally called “Some Cunt from Preston” and not much of a shocker why the they changed its name, the Madchester monster band sounds ahead of its time even today: a blues beater with heavy heavy beats – A
Rita deserves her # 1 position, she’s worked for it, it is a good song and it begins to make up for the double standard sexism that has gone along with the claims of promiscuity. As if it wasn’t her body and her choice. Otherwise, I like this list a lot: it is alway better than the US at least because it changes faster and we ain’t stuck with Bro country.
A slow week at the top, right? Usually there are a couple I have to research but this have been around since last week My main complaint is “Summer” isn’t at # 1… Cmon guys, really!!
I haven’t seen Iggy on stage but I have seen Ariane and she was the pits. It’s the Lana Del Rey syndrome, a production creation that can not translate on to stage. But so what? Don’t see her live. Both “Problem” and “Fancy are great songs. That’s all.
Sneaky Freak – Imelda May – No nonsense rockabilly via Ireland and it makes you wonder why the UK are, and always have been, bigger rockabilly sneak freaks than the US. This is no nonsense stuff – B+
Nice little chart they’ve got going for em here. Take out Legend and there isn’t a dog in the lot and Calvin Harris newbie might well be a summer hit this year. Fabulous House triumph on every level and an all round great song.
I’ve Seen It All – Bjork – Off her Lar Von Trier movie, this is a spectacular nursery rhyme set to the chugachug of a train with smart aphorisms like “All walls are great if the roof doesn’t fall” while enhancing the strange sad “pennies from heaven” storyline – A
Coming Of Age – Foster The People – This song makes a promise the album couldn’t keep, but this heavy textured beat and strong melodic mood seemed as though the band could move forward from “Pumpked Up Kicks” into a post-modern indie hybrid sound – A-
Where are the Christmas songs? Only Lily Allen constitutes one and none of the others has hit the top ten yet, where is Susan Boyle, Lucy Spraggan, the Fishwives Choirs (no really) and, er, AC/DC. Cowell is pushing SIX X factor songs, none of which are her.
An alright, Englishy, Christmasy, feel goody type of charts, with Elle, Lily, McFly, Barlow, 1D and more with English-y sweety sticky love makes me strong-y four little word-y let’s hold hands to process guitars and programmed drums
John Cleese is so reasonable while discussing an apartment building that doubles as an abbatoir, “none of your blood caked on the walls and flesh flying out the windows…” though what he really wants is to be a Freemason – A
We as a society can’t leave well enough alone and the DJ remix fad is going nowhere fast enough. Here to stay a human and knobs take amazing songs and transform them into- well.. dance tunes. With the thump and the escalation a typical tune becomes a Molly needing pulse.
