Robyn’s eagerly anticipated album from last year, Honey, didn’t do the business it should have though dance maven top of the top Swedish superstar certainly deserved a smash hit on her hands. The show is practically a sell out and for a woman who has been in the 10s that is both a surprise and not a surprise because when it comes to Robyn we are fanatics. I even went to see her give an interview last year (here) . Of course, I will be at Madison Square Garden on Friday to see this huge show.

Monday – The Monochrome Set – Bowery Ballroom

Tuesday – Marshall Crenshaw – City Winery – I haven’t checked in in awhile…

Tuesday, Wednesday – Elton John: Farewell Yellow Brick Road Madison Square Garden – Madison Square Garden – With still another 100 gig to go, Elton returns to the Garden for the last time ever? roc nyc scribe may be taking me… maybe I will enjoy it more than last time…

Tuesday –  Saturday  – Suzanne Vega – Cafe Carlyle – If all you know is “Luka” and “Tom’s Diner” don’t blame me…

Tuesday – Sunday – Ravi Coltrane – Jazz Standard

Thursday –  LOVE ROCKS NYC Benefitting God’s Love We Deliver – Beacon Theatre – “This musical celebration will bring together award winning artists including Whoopi Goldberg, Martin Short, Robert Plant, Sheryl Crow, Hozier, Buddy Guy & more to raise money for this extraordinary not for profit”. Perfect, if you wanna wait four hours to hear Plant sing while Guy mugs.
