I can’t take Chris Stapleton, the thick voiced, full bearded Bradley Cooper wannabe, he bums me out and how, but when I don’t know it’s him I hate him less and so that must count. Plus, he is the poster child for so many things that need a poster child, he brings flesh to Cooper’s lean healthiness… so I am going to catch up with Stapleton at Madison Square Garden on Friday night… should you? That’s between you and your God.

Monday – Minus The Bear: The Farewell Tour – Irving Plaza – While I am not a fan of this indie band, they were certainly the real deal and the new EP isn’t awful… plus final concerts are always a blast.

Monday – Good Charlotte North American Tour with Sleeping With Sirens and Knuckle Puck – Terminal 5 – Pop punkers growing old…

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – An Acoustic Evening W/ John Hiatt: The Eclipse Sessions Tour –  City Winery – The new album is KILLER

Monday – Beastie Boys Book: Live & Direct with Adam Horovitz & Michael Diamond – I remember seeing these guys opening for Run DMC back in the day… I bet they have a tale to tell.

Monday – Steely Dan: The Nightfly – Beacon Theatre – I blew it off last week but am tempted to take another chance

Monday – Peter Cincotti – Iridium

Monday – Chief Keef – Irving Plaza

Tuesday – TWENTY ONE PILOTS – THE BANDITO TOUR – Madison Square Garden – The new album isn’t much but live they are excellent

Tuesday – The Wombats, Barns Courtney – Terminal 5

Tuesday – Billy F Gibbons featuring Matt Sorum, Austin Hanks & Elwood Francis – Iridium – Really? At the Iridium??

Wednesday – WSOU Presents: GWARoween PT II “The Bloodening” – Irving Plaza – Woooh scary

Wednesday – Kristin Hersh With Fred Abong and Rob Ahlers – Rough Trade NYC

Wednesday – Cypress Hill: Haunted Hill 2018 W/ Special Guests

Wednesday, Thursday – Christine and the Queens. Dounia – Brooklyn Steel – Their new album is just fine and as far as the sound of modern indie via France goes, there is no one better…

Wednesday – Kyle – The Lightspeed World Tour – Sony Hall – The terrific new r&b singer

Friday – Spanking Charlene, the Goodnight Darlings – Coney Island Baby – That entire 1979 never died, it just grew a little older thing holds minimal interest, but any interest it does hold is probably due to Spanking Charlene.

Friday – Dweezil Zappa Choice Cuts World Tour 2018 – Apparently he is not allowed to mention his daddy, which would amuse Frank no end.

Friday – Lecrae + Andy Mineo, Wordsplayed, nobigdyl, WHATUPRG – PlayStation Theater

Friday – George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic – Sony Hall – Last time I saw em, maybe five years ago, I thought they were passed it, but since George can’t get any royalties from all the rappers who sampled his music, he has to keep on going.

Friday – Pistol Annies ft. Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley – The new EP is terrific.

Friday – Jake Shears, SSION, Sammy Jo – Brooklyn Steel – The album deserved a better fate but the Scissor Sisters MC is always great live.

Friday – An Evening With John Sebastian – City Winery – The timeless great laid back one, the coolest guy at Woodstock

Saturday – Billie Eilish – Irving Plaza – The UK 16 year old singer songwriter wunderkind

Saturday – The Fab Faux: The George Harrison 75th Birthday Celebration – Beacon Theatre – Stupid cancer…

Saturday – An Evening With Chris Robinson Brotherhood – Brooklyn Steel, Brooklyn, NY – All these years later, CRB would be hailed as conquering heroes of rock if they were 23 years old.

Sunday – PRETTYMUCH: The Funktion Tour – Irving Plaza

Sunday – Tenacious D – Kings Theatre – Not my scene but I know folks who love Jack Black…

Sunday – Joni Mitchell 75th Birthday Tribute: Featuring Morgan James Performing Joni’s Masterpiece Blue In Its Entirety! (Afternoon Show) – There is also an evening show but what the world needs now is many more weekend afternoon shows, for fuck’s save The Concert For Bangaadesh  had an afternoon performance at MSG…
