In 2018 I went to five concerts in January, in 2020 I am stuck at one. I’d requested that Jem Records President Marty Short put me on the guest list for the Weeklings “Light Of Day” gig at The Cutting Room, so he did, but he didn’t tell me he had so I blew it off, and the Yams Day gig at Barclay Center was the coldest night of the year so I blew that off. So stuck atone, maybe two if I go to the Loud Records gig,   and only three for February. The reason is threefold:

1 – I’m 63 years old, work what amounts to two full time jobs, and I got tired.

2 – There really is nothing much going on where you think: this I have to see

3 – It’s too cold, I wish I could hibernate till April!

Tuesday – The Brubeck Brothers Quartet Celebrates Dave Brubeck’s Centennial  – Jazz Standard – There is absolutely zero reason not to celebrate the jazz great.

Tuesday – Dancing with the Stars: Live! – 2020 Tour – Radio City Music Hall – A camp masterpiece, no doubt

Wednesday – Bob Mould Sunshine Rock Winter 2020 Solo Electric – well on his way to living legend status, and the first rock nyc live review, nearly eleven years ago.

Thursday – Anne-Sophie Mutter – Stern Hal – The classical violinist, last time I saw her in this venue she blew me away

Thursday – Spin Doctors – Brooklyn Bowl

Thursday – Loud Records 25th Anniversary – According to Brooklynvegan “it includes Wu-Tang Clan, a Prodigy tribute featuring his former Mobb Deep partner Havoc (who has kept Mobb Deep alive after Prodigy’s passing), a Big Pun tribute featuring Fat Joe and a special guest, Tha Links, Dead Prez, Beatnuts, Pete Rock, and even more special guests.”

Thursday – The Lox w/ Jadakiss, Styles P & Sheek Louch – One Night Only – Sony Hall – The 90s are back

Friday – Nada Surf – MHOW

Friday – Roddy Ricch – Brooklyn Steel – Had the # 1 single and album a coupla days ago.

Saturday – Brett Young: The Chapters Tour – Hammerstein Ballroom – He was pretty good opening for Luke Bryan a coupla years ago
