I Choose – From The Netflix Original Film The Willoughbys – Alessia Cara – Alessia sounds OK on a soppy soundtrack ballad – C+

Split the Sky – Alex the Astronaut – The Australian singer songwriter is the best new artist of the year, “I Think You’re Great” has been one of the best songs of 2020 since its released, and this sweet song with a rocking back beat is a wonderful thing about growing older – A-

Honey Boo – CNCO, Natti Natasha – The popular Latin boy band with a catchy sweet nothing – B-

Find My Way – DaBaby – He sings on the chorus and deals with rejection by having a girl sit on his dick – B

Toosie Slide – Drake -a Tik Tok dance track and a beautiful piece of hip hop soul, masterful with a dance via dance influencer Toosie – SINGLE OF THE WEEK  – A

Ion Rap Beef (Remix) [feat. Earl Sweatshirt & 03 Greedo] – Drakeo the Ruler, Earl Sweatshirt, 03 Greedo – Earl comes in on the second verse and does one of his most on the nose raps in awhile – B+

Unlearning – Evidence – 00s style, first class rapping freestyle  – B

What I Like (feat. Rich The Kid & Tyga) – Famous Dex, Rich The Kid, Tyga – The drip guy is back! And without a drip on this strong banger from quarantine – B

Not Friendly – Flo Milli – It’s no “My Attitude” but it ain’t bad – B

Dear April (Side A – Acoustic) – Frank Ocean – a full blown ballad with calming beauty – B+

Cayendo (Side A – Acoustic) – Frank Ocean – artier, echoey-er and less fun – B

Tycoon – Future – Future counting his dollars as only he can, a smooth trap banger with a terrific Rolls in the video – B+

Sometimes – Grey Daze – the rerecorded takes on Chester Bennington’s first bands songs, this is the best so far by far – B-

Over Yet – Hayley Williams – New York Times pop editor Caryn Ganz claimed the 51 second mark here is “a moment of much needed bliss…” She means the break into the chorus and it isn’t – C+

Infinite Scroll – Jess Williamson – about instagram on your phone – B-

Papal Stain – JG Thirlwell, Simon Steensland – Foetus! With lots of electronic horror show electronica – B-

Follow – KAROL G, Anuel AA – trap beats under reggaeton duet – B

Back To Me – Lindsay Lohan –  old school disco funk – C+

Make the Most (feat. H.E.R.) – Lonr., H.E.R. – beautiful chill r&b  duet – B+

Boyfriend – Mabel -already a hit in the UK, the beats sound like tom toms and the song is a catchy breeze EDM pop – B+

Stained Glass – Madison Beer – just signed to SONY, the dramatic singer songwriter lays on the misery – C+

Been Thru This Before (with Giggs & SAINt JHN) – Marshmello, Southside, Giggs, SAINt JHN – haunting trap beat and the breaking big as we speak SAINt JHN – B-

All In It Together – Mavis Staples – blah rah rah – C

Hometown Heroes – Moon Taxi – I can’t take that high pitched voice over Americana – C

Fear Index – Mush – post punk clangy guitars and sing speak – C+

Lay It On Me Baby – Nick Lowe – 0is meets 60s  rocker with Hank Marvin like guitar solo – B+

Summertime – Orville Peck – I can’t take this guys voice at any price plus that not showing your face is pathetic – C

After Hours – PINS – art punk goes disco with a cool hook “I’m just a woman in the world…”, one of the finest in the world of lesbian mating rituals  – B

Don’t Be Mad At Me – Problem – how many rappers write about apologizing to the woman they love over a silly fight? – B+

Sacred Safe – Quelle Chris, Chris Keys, Merrill Garbus, Cavalier, Homeboy Sandman – alty indie who’s who with jazz DNA – B

Chosen Family – Rina Sawayama – full blown queer pop triumph about who belongs to who – B

She’s There – Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever – ringing guitared pop punk – B-

Yankee and The Brave (ep. 4) – Run The Jewels – The second goodie off their upcoming, long awaited new album plus some beats on beats plus beats – B+

Phenom – Thao & The Get Down Stay Down – first rate post-punk, bass licked and catchy art pop – B+

Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America – The 1975 – I hadn’t realized Phoebe Bridgers was dueting here, an off center, different type of song on the postponed album, Matty’s first real attempt at Americana works well – B+

Get Happy (feat. Mat Zo) – The Knocks, Mat Zo somewhere between The Weeknd and PARTYNEXTDOOR – b-

Loyalty And Love – The LOX – Old school B-Boy to men – B-

Classy Girls (B Version) – The Lumineers – remake of the 2013 song – B

This Perfect Day – Tropical Fuck Storm – great cover of The Saints song, they get the lick completely – B+

Suburbiopia – Tropical Fuck Storm – terrific art punk – B+

Take Yourself Home – Troye Sivan – The Gayteen of two years ago grows up a little on this straight up r&b pop track – B

Bach Vision Test – Vulfpeck – Bach plus electronics, but why from these guys? – B
