I’m The Man – 50 Cent – Soul rap song as Fitty continues to come of age – B

The New Cupid – BJ The Chicago, Kendrick Lamar – Sounds like Philly soul  in a very good way, this guy sometimes leaves me shrugging but this promises well for the new album. Kendrick is okay, not great. He tends to add something not needed onto the pop songs where he shows up, though that “skirt skirt skirt” thing is catchy – B

Wild Child – Cardiknox – Pleasant disco track – B

Get Mine – Daniel Ellsworth And The Great Lakes – Rock em Americana, let’s hear it for the drummer – B-

Whutcha Want – Giovanni James – Neo soul 2016 style, a real good match smash em James Brown-y hustle bustle. From Harlem and you’ll believe it  – B+

Make Me Like You – Gwen Stefani – Her best song, a straight up disco new love song, in years – B+

Fire – Jack Garrett – One man electronic band, he got the beard the old fashioned way, he grew it – C

Naked – Jason Derulo – Very average hip hop r&b – C

Ain’t You – K Michelle – I expect a little more from her, the vocal is OK, the song weak – C

Sea Of Love – Langhorne Slim, Jill Andrews – Since I couldn’t hate the genre more, I am pleasantly surprised I got through it without killing someone. Thanks be to Jill – C+

Pep Rally – Missy Elliott – Another dance track for the King of the World, Missy – B

What Side Of Love – Parachute – Blue eyed soul, not bad – B-

Halifax – Pete Yorn – Blah singer songwriter – C

Foreign Lovers – Ra Ra Riot – I used to have a friend who was buddies with these guys. Last I heard, she had moved to Delaware – C-

Bounty Hunters – Royscopp – This guy signifies a lot better when Robyn is helping out, beats veering close to House – C+

Banshee – Santigold – We waited years for this? – C+

Walk To The One You Love – Twin Peaks – A terrific little rocker, the guitar solo is magical and the song is catchier than possible, the piano takes over for a coupla bars but nothing can hide from that lick. I saw em live a coupla years ago and they are just as good on record – A-
