THE UNDISPUTED TOUR DEF JAM ARTISTS:
ABOUT BOBBY SESSIONS:
Bobby Sessions was born and raised in Pleasant Grove, Dallas Texas, a predominantly Black, low-to-lower middle-income neighborhood southeast of the metroplex — a place that prepares better for survival than stardom. Midway through his formative years, Bobby and his family relocated to Rowlett, a suburb 20 miles northeast, and it can be argued that Bobby’s proximity to both realities is essential to the development of the perspectives illustrated in his music. The absence of police sirens and helicopters allowed a young Bobby Sessions to develop a passion for learning and an imagination bordered only by the limits of language. Poetry became his preferred and most celebrated medium but a few years of college in Denton, TX would repurpose Bobby’s creative strengths into what would bring him more personal fulfillment than he ever imagined. It was at the University of North Texas in 2010 that Bobby first penned a poem over a beat, and he hasn’t looked back since.
Over the course of a year, Bobby attracted the attention of Def Jam Recordings, and most notably, their then-recently appointed CEO, Paul Rosenberg. And after a listen and meaningful exchange, Rosenberg signed Bobby Sessions to Def Jam Recordings through High Standardz, fulfilling a prophecy Sessions made four years prior.
Bobby performs the eponymous title tune of the upcoming movie The Hate U Give, based on the New York Times best-selling book by Angie Thomas. Bobby’s major label debut via Def Jam, RVLTN (Chapter 1): The Divided States of AmeriKKKA is out now.
ABOUT BEAU YOUNG PRINCE:
Beau Young Prince, a self-described “Southside kid with a North Side education” bred in urban Southeast DC, attended one of the highest ranked private schools in the Northern part of the city. “I was given a really unique experience,” he speaks of that duality. “I have the ability to combine both worlds where most people can’t.”
BYP’s training on classical and jazz upright bass was tempered by an eclectic playlist of sounds at home, from Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield to A Tribe Called Quest and André 3000, from Lenny Kravitz and Bad Brains to DC’s legendary Go-Go scene. As a teen he hit local talent shows, open mics, and rap battles, even burning CDs that he sold on the street. A graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, NC, BYP kept the music going, hitting the Soundcloud wave early on, and performing three years in a row at the SXSW Music Conference.
In 2016, Beau Young Prince grabbed over a million streams with “Half & Half Tea” (Top 50 Viral U.S. Spotify chart, and Spotify Most Necessary playlist), off his critically acclaimed project Until Then, produced by longtime friend, New York City producer Yalamusiq. A year later, BYP connected with French producer YMNO for the Young Futura project. BYP’s subsequent release of his Sunset Blvd EP ensured that he was destined for greatness. Def Jam A&R soon caught the vibe as the DC star finally won his seat at the table.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Casanova’s commanding presence was shaped by his Flatbush upbringing. He released his first original song, “Don’t Run,” in 2016, and the aggressive warning shot set New York City’s radio and club scenes ablaze. In early 2018, Casanova released “Set Trippin,” a hard as nails street single where he takes imposters to task. His powerful voice, magnetic personality, and impenetrable confidence set him apart, but an authenticity that’s increasingly rare in hip-hop is his strongest quality. Casanova wants to be a force to be reckoned with. There’s every reason to believe him.
With the release of her newest single “Lil Bebe” and her viral “In My Feelings” challenge video, rising R&B artist-to-watch DaniLeigh has accumulated millions of streams on her hit song and videos. “Lil Bebe” averages 90K streams a day with 1.5M US streams and 2.5M global streams to date, reaching #37 on Spotify’s Viral chart and playlisted on “Most Necessary” and “Mellow Bars”. Her social media followers are growing at an average rate of 80K per week and her “In My Feelings” challenge video is now at a whopping 9.5M views and increasing daily. The Times Square dance video for “Lil Bebe” is now at 7.4M views. She supported Teyana Taylor on the KTSE on Aisle VII tour this summer and her sophomore project, The Plan, is due for release in the fall.
ABOUT FETTY LUCIANO:
Fetty Luciano, who is from East Flatbush, better known as The ‘90s, got his rap name by combining his childhood nickname (“Fetty”) and his love for Italian mob movies (“Luciano”). His video cameos include French Montana’s “Hot Nigga” (Remix) and “Don’t Panic”; Chinx’s “Bodies”; Rowdy’s “Computers”; and 6ix9ine’s “Keke” featuring Fetty Wap and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Luciano’s gotten credible co-signs from Casanova and Zoey Dollaz. Buzzing Brooklyn rapper Jay Critch even collaborated with him on “Get It & Flip It,” which has over 423,000 plays on SoundCloud.
Now with Def Jam supporting his movement, Fetty will soon be releasing a mixtape, Story to Tell. In the meantime, he has released two Rico-produced singles – “On the Wall” featuring an unreleased hook by Shmurda and “FASHO” with Atlanta’s Gunna – to feed the streets and heat up his name. Both showcase Fetty’s ability to adapt to different styles; on “On the Wall,” he’s aggressive and in-your-face. On “FASHO,” he utilizes Auto-Tune as an artistic tool to brag about (what else?) getting to the shmoney.
ABOUT YK OSIRIS:
It’s been a rapid rise for the 18-year-old Jacksonville, FL native, from accumulating millions of views on Instagram and YouTube with his homespun videos, to signing with Def Jam. Osiris’ growth and engagement on Instagram has been incredibly rapid, starting with 40K followers in March and now approaching 1 million followers. He averages over 410K Instagram interactions weekly, closing out with over 6M interactions in the past 3 months.
His debut single, “Valentine” has over 10.5M audio streams and over 2.2M views on the official music video – watch HERE. In addition to being featured as YouTube’s “Artist on the Rise”, “Valentine” has been playlisted on Spotify’s “Signed XOXO”, and “Love, Sex, & Water” and on Apple Music’s “Ultimate R&B” and “The New South”. Lil Uzi Vert is featured on the remix – listen HERE.
The video for YK Osiris’ current single “Timing” racked up over 2M views in 1 week on YouTube (currently at close to 6M views – watch HERE), with 4M audio streams. He’s had top placement on Triller and Musically and been playlisted on Spotify’s “Most Necessary” and “Channel X”, and Apple Music’s “Breaking Hip Hop” and “Straight off The Porch”. Osiris’ debut mixtape will be released soon.
