French-Caribbean artist Adeline — one of the most vibrant voices in NYC’s indie-soul scene — will release her highly anticipated self-titled debut solo album [ad•uh•leen] this Friday, November 9. Garnering praise from VOGUE, FADER, Refinery29, She Shreds, Rolling Stone and many more, she recently performed on Good Day New York & VICELAND “PERFORMANCES”. TIDAL spoke with Adeline about the project and debuted new album single “Hi Life” which is available today.
With musical influences essential to any history lesson in funk, R&B and disco, her upcoming solo debut collection – which she co-produced with Morgan Wiley (Hercules & Love Affair, Midnight Magic), wrote & played bass on – gives nods to Chaka Khan, Prince, Curtis Mayfield & Sylvester while still remaining contemporary.
Adeline is the tour-de-force widely known as the indomitable voice and face of the lauded Nu-Disco band Escort. Adeline has previously taken center stage at major festivals including Coachella, Montreal Jazz Fest, Full Moon Festival and most recently Afropunk 2018. Fans will have more chances to experience her fierce energy live at her NYC record release show and two shows in LA.
