What’s Watt

1. Forget – Ben Watt – Another strong ballad off Ben’s new album, the Joe’s Pub gig is the same day as Mr. and Mrs. Carter and I am seriously considering passing on Jigga for him – A-

2. The More I Drink – Blake Shelton – Personally, I think “The Voice” has stopped Blake from being taken as seriously as he might be. This is a very good song about alcoholism – B+

3. Snowfall – Bucky Pizzarelli And Ed Laub – One finger strums, the other finger picks – B+

4. I Got You Babe – Sonny And Cher – It is easy to ignore Svengali Bono because Cher is a) still alive and b) Cher is so overpowering, but the cut of his voice is just under Cher’s, and they mix like true love – A+

5. The Ex Of All You See – Old 97’s Sounds like the Byrds in a drunken brawl – A

6. Our Time – Lily Allen – Electronic drunken blur, “It’s 2am somewhere…” – B+

7. And It’s Time – Ohio Express – 60s pop ballad, strings and string drumsticks – B+

8. Sour – Styles P – Always a pleasure to hear Jadakiss, though this is a weirdly downer drug song – B

9. Pick Up A Gun – Ray Lamontage – Dreary dream pop – C-

10. Vocal Exercise – Peter Stampfel – An acquired taste that’s for sure – C
